ABOUT ME

IMG-20210121-WA0003(1).jpg

My name is Kristina, a hobbyist landscape photographer based in North Wiltshire. The photography profession runs in my family, from an early age I have loved taking photos and I have never stopped!

The name "Sacred Spiral Photography" was born out of my silly nick-name "Spiro" due to my fascination with nature and obsession with spirals and the golden ratio. I am always  "looking" (at least by eye) for the sacred geometry and alignments in and around ancient sites: churches, monuments, standing stones and earthworks such as; henges, tumuli, hill forts/camps; as well as trees, flora, fauna and the general natural topography of the land. Finding a way to capture these elements in a photo feels like a type of meditation to me...

In 2019, some personal events transpired and I found myself moving from West London/Buckinghamshire to North Wiltshire. I couldn't believe how lucky I was to have moved so close to one of my most cherished locations in the UK - Avebury! Life can throw us in some unexpected directions and to find myself where I am, well, it felt all too meaningful; having fallen in love with and visiting the area frequently over my lifetime, how could I miss this opportunity to really get in touch with it?
I find myself increasingly obsessed with the history of the area, the archaeology, topography and etymology of the land.

There is something about traveling around these ancient, undulating landscapes of Wiltshire (and further afield) that takes the breath away, makes the jaw drop and the heart grow. To be witness to such vast, naked and almost untouched historical landscape is one thing, to explore it and to contemplate what it all must mean is another... and I'm on a mission to keep exploring, and not just in Wiltshire...

Taking my camera on my trips; endeavouring to capture the light, serenity and the beauty of the locations and moments I experience. When I look back, those moments make my heart sing and I can only hope they do the same for others....
